Snow Tubing

Hello crafty,

I am back after a Diwali break and its time for another scrapbook page for the Stick-It-Down challenge

The sketch I created this month a pretty simple one...

I have a stash of pattern papers I have been hoarding forever...so I decided to finally bring them to some use...I usually dont use pattern papers in my layouts...
And being me I added a twist to the page

I added hidden journalling spots to the page...The two flaps at the right and left side open up to reveal journalling spots...

Now onto the details of the layout...
On the flap on the right I wrote the location of this photo multiple times...I think repetition create a great effect.
On the flap on the left I drew a snoflakish doodle...I like how it turned out...

I wrote the sentiment and coloured it in with silver gel pen and gave a light shadow with a grey marker...

I made a scrapbook page with a simple design this time...I have been wanting to make fresh-looking layouts for some time...I think I have succeeded in it...What do you think? Would love to know your opinions and suggestions

I am entering this layout in the following challenges:

Trek

Helloz,

A new month...a new sketch at Stick-It-Down...a new scrapbook page...with new ideas...new techniques...

I made this layout keeping in mind the sketch I created for Stick-It-Down challenge this month...
Do visit the Stick-It-Down blog and join us along for a fun challenge...

Details - The horizontal stripes were made 2 ways...one by adding gesso through 2 stencils (Finnabair Bubbles and Balzer Design Rug)  and second by stamp with a hand-carved stamp...yes you read it right...this is one of my first hand-carved stamps... Anyways...I coloured them with 3 colours of gelatos...green...lime, butterscotch and chocolate

I love how the frame turned out...To achieve the texture I coloured it with Vintage Photo DI...then clear embossed with Finnabair Woodgrain stamp and went over it with black Archival Ink...removing the ink from the embossed parts with a paper napkin.

Also I added some texture on the background with gesso...love the versatility of gesso...

The Title are wooden letters from a local craft store (coloured them black)..the butterfly is form Hiedi Swapp Dreamy Ephemera collection(I coloured the butterfly to match the page)...the Arrow is from Heidi Swapp September Skies Wood Veneer collection(coloured it black) and the Explore sticker is from my stash...

The Kraft way...

Hello crafters,

I made a scrapbook page with kraft as base for the first time today...

The Inspiration -

Stuck?! - Loved the sketch at Stuck this month...the only variations I did was, I moved the top patterned part to the bottom and added script stamping instead of journalling...

Scrap Around the World - What I took from the beautiful moodboard this month...is the neutral colours...the beach...travel...arrows from the signboard

Kraft+ - The theme this month is to incorporate zentangle in your kraft layout and boy do I love doodling and zentangle...I chose my favourite tangle...Printemps for this...

Stamplorations Mixed Media Challenge - I made a homemade stencil/mask for colouring the bottom part of the page with Distress Inks...

A close up...

The Ingredients -

P.S. -  After taking photographs of the layout, I realised that the beach photograph is upside down...hehe... I did put it the right way later but could not take pics with it the right side up....

Fly Away

Hello friends,

We have another single page sketch at Stick-It-Down this month...and guess who created the sketch...yup...its ME....It feels so good to see people create scrapbook pages using these sketches...
Be sure to check out the beautiful pages created by our Design Team ...

Now this might sound ridiculous (having created the sketch myself)...but I had a hard time making a scrapbook page from this layout...I did not want to make small tiles for the background...as I have already done here and here...I wanted to do something different...and this is what I ended up with...
I am pretty pleased with the end result... :D

Now on to the details..I clear embossed a bird stamp multiple times and smooshed Peacock Feathers DI over it...

Next I started matting the photos..I have used a Hero Arts Chevron stencil on the matted layers...and I stamped the stamp "fly away" (which really suits the pics :D ) on one of the layers repeatedly...

And in the end I made a simple cluster for one of the corners...some DI...some stenciling and some stamping... I love these chipboard Pebbles from Dusty attic...I coloured it black with Archival Ink...so that it matches the layout...Also this way the words are more legible...

As I am making more pages...I am realising that I like creating simple layouts...meaning less layering...simple clusters...not many colours...emphasis on the photo...

Cherish the Memories

Hello everyone,

I am posting after a month..woah...thats a looonnggg time...I have been busy in my professional as well personal life...
Its hard to squeeze in time for crafting at such times...

Well...I have some great news....I am on the Design Team of the awesome scrapbook challenge at Stick-it-Down... This is my first ever stint as a DT member...so I am very excited... :D
Check out the sketch for this month's challenge....
(Psst....I created the sketch for the challenge this month...another first ;) )
We have some awesome creations by the talented Design Team...Be sure to check them out...

I created a scrapbook page with a black cardstock as a base...This is the first time I have created with a dark background...Oh my...so many firsts in this post :P

For the background I took a black cardstock and started drawing rectangles and squares with gelatos...Dont Gelatos look awesome on black cardstock!!??!!...one of the many reasons I love Gelatos...
For the layering papers...I coloured them with the same gelatos and stamped with Archival Ink some stamps and stencils...

Finally I applied some gesso along the edges of the page with my fingers...I like the effect...

Hope you like this scrapbook page...
I would love to hear your comments and suggestions...

Sisters...

Hello crafty fellas,

Today I wanna share a page I made with a cute and silly pic of me and my sis...
We took some selfies on my bday and I really wanted to make a page for it...

The moodboard at Scrap Around the World gave me a starting point for this page...The girly frolicky mood of the board caught my eye...

Then I followed clues of the Special Collaboration Case File CC-5 from The CSI challenge...
Following the clues was so much fun...I have been wanting to take part in the CSI challenge for some time now...And the Collaboration Case File was just perfect for this page...

I started out by creating a grid of squares and then filled in all the squares with many different things like...doodling....stencilling...stamping...pattern papers....punch cutouts...lettering...

I added some metal wires and wooden embellishment on the left corner...

Then added my photos...with some ribbon and these wooden Pebbles by Dusty Attic...

When you lift the first photo flap, the second photo(the silly one) and journalling is revealed :D

P.S. - The layout of this page was inspired from a scrapbook page by Terhi Koskinen
