Sea World

Hello everyone,

I am back with yet another scrapbook page...
I take a lot of time to create one page...but I guess its better to be slow and have a satisfactory outcome than to hurry and just make something...

For this page I combined a few challenges....
I was inspired by the sketch from the Sketchabilites Sketch Challenge....the colour scheme from the Scrap Around the World moodboard for this month and the elements from the Scrap Our Stash - Stash Challenge

The sketch at Sketchabilities is simple and gorgeous...so I started by layering my photo with different papers from my stash...I took 2 patterned papers and one stencilled paper...When I was happy with the arrangement of the papers, I went around the edges of the papers with black Archival Ink....

Next came in the colour scheme....Scrap Around the World has a beautiful moodboard this month... I took inspiration from the cool colours and started adding colours to my white page...some splashes...some splatters...I also added a starfish from the moodboard....

Now, I had to add some more elements to the layout to complete the page...this is where the Stash Challenge of Scrap Our Stash came in handy...
I added the following elements to my page:
S - Sequins, Stencil (for layering), Starfish charm
T - Thread (for sewing)
A - Alphabets (chipboard)
M - Marker (for date)
P - Pattern Paper (for Layering)

Adorable Minions

Hello everyone,

Here comes my second scrapbook page...
I struggled a bit as it is the first time I made a page following a sketch....

As compared to my first page, this page has many elements, techniques and mediums..... stamping.....layering...splatters...gelatos...doily...alpha stickers...

Some more peeks...

I have incorporated the colours from the photo inspiration in the splatters as well around the centre cluster...

The First

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share my very first Scrapbook page with you guys...
My hubby has been asking me to make one for more than year now...to document all our adventures when we were is US...
But I just couldnt make one...everytime I tried to start...I used to end up staring at all the photos and patterned papers....Gosh...it seemed so overwhelming.....

Then a few days ago...I realised that a scrapbook page shouldn't necessarily have pattern papers and a specific layout...I cant just start by doodling...and it seemed to ease me down....

I wanted to make a page for the time when we attended Luau in Hawaii...This one has been long over due...
I started doodling on one corner....and then coloured the doodle with Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade...two yummy yellow/orange shades... :)

Then I spritzed it with water and had some fun....I directed the water drops in different directions to give the effect of rays....
And then I went splatter crazy with the same colours...splatter here...splatter there...and the background was complete....

Now I had to add the title, location and other details to the layout...but I did not want to write some text and disturb the background.... So I came up with an idea...
I doodled a border frame and wrote all the details around the frame... My hubby just loved this idea...

Hope you guys like it.
I am a beginner scrapbooker...so would love to hear your comments and suggestions...

Life is like Drawing...

Heya,

Sharing another Art Journal page...
This is one of those pages, where I didnt give any thought....I just created... :)
Its good to sometimes just make something without any plans or any meaning...JUST CREATE!

Coloured the background with different shades of blue watercolors and then stamped with a french script stamp all over. Then to push things in the background...I smooshed some white pigment ink with a makeup sponge...
Wrote the sentiment with a few different fonts...

She Art

Hello crafters,

I made quite some Journal pages this weekend...
Sharing the one I liked the most first...
While browsing the net for good quotes...I came across this quote

I just loved the meaning of this quote......Be happy with who we are...We should stop judging ourselves and try to match the standards set my someone else...Learn to accept ourselves as we are...

So onto the journal page...

I won some beautiful digis from Fitzdown some time back...so I printed out this one and coloured it with colour pencils...and then fuzzy-cut it and kept it aside...

I created the background using distress inks ...using them like watercolours...
Stamped the honeycomb around the border with a Gray marker...

Lastly added the quote with Pigma Micron pens and added a shadow to the words with a gray Gelato...

New supplies...new Journal page

Hey everyone,

I like trying my new supplies on art journal pages...
I made 2 pages recently...

On the first page, I tried out a new woodgrain stamp with different inks...
The upper border is from a border punch...
And on the sides...some doodling using my new Micron brush tip pen and Uniball white signo pen...
The page resembled a door to me...so I chose this quote...and tried some hand lettering...

And then tried my hand on some new additions to my distress ink collection...
I bought my first Distress stain...Dusty Concord...really easy application on larger surfaces...
I wrote some lines from a song with Uniball White signo pen...
The lyrics are from a Hindi songs...

Art Journaling is a great place to try new supplies and to practice your lettering skills...

Cubicle Art

Hello everyone,

The other day I had to wait late in office and I was done with my work...
So I went crazy doodling on the white board on my desk :D ....

The blank white board had been staring at me for quite some time now...
I had this urge to fill the entire board with my marker...

I wrote the word "Aspire" in 3-D font...and then started doodling around it...drawing flowers...henna designs...zentangle patterns...doodles...everything...
It was such a stress-buster...I felt peaceful after I completed the board...
Here is a better look at the doodled board...

I love looking at it while doing my work...it makes me happy... :)

Live Love Laugh

Hello everyone,

I bought some gelatos recently and was eager to try them out...
And what better way to try out a new product than a journal page...

I took a pink gelato and starting drawing hearts...
Initially I drew a big heart in the middle...but I didnt like it so covered it up with a pattern paper :P
After drawing with gelato...I used blur watercolour to colour the white space....

Finally wrote the words with my Pigma Micron and Uniball Signo white gel pen.
I love these 2 pens...they are so great for lettering and doodling...

Now I know...the font for Laugh didnot turn out so great...but hey that is what an art journal is for ;)

Life is not Fair

Hello everyone,

I have observed that there are many styles of art journaling...
Some people do actual journaling...some people just do experimentation...some people journal around quotes...some people just doodle...
Well...I have been trying to find my style of art journaling...and I have realized that I fall in the last 3 categories...
I just love good quotes...
This particular quote is by Bill Gates...

I coloured the background using watercolours...
then I wrote some words with colour pencils...I used the colour pencils in the same colour as the background...
And finally I practiced some handlettering for the quote...
The words "is not" have been written on a piece of black cardstock and stuck on the paper...

This page looks quite simple...but I have used 3-4 different mediums on it.....watercolours...colour pencils...Pigma Micron tip pen...Uniball white gel pen...fascinating.... :)
