Sisters...

Hello crafty fellas,

Today I wanna share a page I made with a cute and silly pic of me and my sis...
We took some selfies on my bday and I really wanted to make a page for it...

The moodboard at Scrap Around the World gave me a starting point for this page...The girly frolicky mood of the board caught my eye...

Then I followed clues of the Special Collaboration Case File CC-5 from The CSI challenge...
Following the clues was so much fun...I have been wanting to take part in the CSI challenge for some time now...And the Collaboration Case File was just perfect for this page...

I started out by creating a grid of squares and then filled in all the squares with many different things like...doodling....stencilling...stamping...pattern papers....punch cutouts...lettering...

I added some metal wires and wooden embellishment on the left corner...

Then added my photos...with some ribbon and these wooden Pebbles by Dusty Attic...

When you lift the first photo flap, the second photo(the silly one) and journalling is revealed :D

P.S. - The layout of this page was inspired from a scrapbook page by Terhi Koskinen

Be YOU!

Hello everyone,

I have been busy...busy...busy lately....
But I just cant keep my hand off of crafting...

When I am busy...I start a layout and create it bit by bit...whenever I get time....
Have you seen the inspiration pic for Create Something Catchy challenges this month.?!?!
Its just lovely...love the colour scheme in the pic
And then I saw the sketch at Stick It Down this month...and I knew I had found a match...

So I started cutting a lot of hexagons...and I tried my hand at a lot of different techniques on these hexagon tiles....I used homemade modelling paste on some...emboss resist on some...stencilling on some and doodling on some...I used Archival inks on the edges of these tile...smudged the ink on some tiles...
I also clear embossed the doily with a script stamp(though it isn't visible much) and coloured it with gelatos...

I took some wooden alphabets and covered them in gesso and then black acrylic paint...and then I scratched them with a sand paper...It gave a very cool effect...

I assembled everything together and I did some stamping using gelatos with my Bo-Bunny texture stamps...
And in the end I had some splatter fun as usual (just cant resist doing it :P )...

I am also entering this scrapbook page in the Scrap Our Stash challenge this month:
E - Embossing (Hexagons and Doily)
M - Marker (for doodling and writing), Mod Podge (for gluing and sealing the hexagons and doily)
B - Bo Bunny stamps (in the background)
O - The letter "O" (in Be You)
S - Stencil (on the Hexagons)
S - Script stamp(around the doily) , Splatters

Crater Lake

Hello everyone,

I recently came across the innumerable Scrapbook Challenges that are available in blogland.
These challenges are a very good guide for a beginner scrapbooker like me...

I made another scrapbook page recently...for our trip to Crater Lake...
It is a beautiful place...the combination of Snow covered mountains with lake water is just ethereal... so peaceful and serene....

The Stuck?! Challenge has a lovely sketch this month...Its so much easier to create your layout when you have a sketch to follow...
Also the ScrapMuch? Challenge has a beautiful colour theme this month...I chose the three colours... dark blue, light blue and beige from the theme....

I created a circle with words that came to my mind when I thought of Crater Lake...
I drew concentric circles around this with light blue gelatos...to give it more interest...

A peek at the different layers and elements of the layout...

The blue paper in the background was coloured with dark blue watercolour  and torn.
The beige colour paper is a pattern paper from a local store...
Finally added some sequins and wooden embellishments...

The colour theme and the sketch:

Hope you all like the layout....
Your comments and suggestions are most welcome...

Patience

Hello everyone,

With everyday hectic life, we forget to stop and breathe sometimes.
I made this art journal page on one such day recently...

Some cool beachy colors and white...very soothing...

I tried many new things on this page....
I covered the page with a script text and then covered it with some homemade gesso...
Then colored the page with gelatos...and wrote the text with White Paint marker....
The stars were drawn with the help of a stencils....
