The Kraft way...

Hello crafters,

I made a scrapbook page with kraft as base for the first time today...

The Inspiration -

Stuck?! - Loved the sketch at Stuck this month...the only variations I did was, I moved the top patterned part to the bottom and added script stamping instead of journalling...

Scrap Around the World - What I took from the beautiful moodboard this month...is the neutral colours...the beach...travel...arrows from the signboard

Kraft+ - The theme this month is to incorporate zentangle in your kraft layout and boy do I love doodling and zentangle...I chose my favourite tangle...Printemps for this...

Stamplorations Mixed Media Challenge - I made a homemade stencil/mask for colouring the bottom part of the page with Distress Inks...

A close up...

The Ingredients -

P.S. -  After taking photographs of the layout, I realised that the beach photograph is upside down...hehe... I did put it the right way later but could not take pics with it the right side up....

Fly Away

Hello friends,

We have another single page sketch at Stick-It-Down this month...and guess who created the sketch...yup...its ME....It feels so good to see people create scrapbook pages using these sketches...
Be sure to check out the beautiful pages created by our Design Team ...

Now this might sound ridiculous (having created the sketch myself)...but I had a hard time making a scrapbook page from this layout...I did not want to make small tiles for the background...as I have already done here and here...I wanted to do something different...and this is what I ended up with...
I am pretty pleased with the end result... :D

Now on to the details..I clear embossed a bird stamp multiple times and smooshed Peacock Feathers DI over it...

Next I started matting the photos..I have used a Hero Arts Chevron stencil on the matted layers...and I stamped the stamp "fly away" (which really suits the pics :D ) on one of the layers repeatedly...

And in the end I made a simple cluster for one of the corners...some DI...some stenciling and some stamping... I love these chipboard Pebbles from Dusty attic...I coloured it black with Archival Ink...so that it matches the layout...Also this way the words are more legible...

As I am making more pages...I am realising that I like creating simple layouts...meaning less layering...simple clusters...not many colours...emphasis on the photo...
