Picture Mosaic + Tutorial

Hello everyone,

Its time for a new sketch at Stick It Down...

I went in a very very different direction this month...
I made a mosaic of small pictures of me and my hubby...

Let me take you through a pictorial tutorial of the layout...
I used the sheet of tiny pictures that comes when you print photos at CostCo...
I drew a circle on my cardstock...this will be the guideline for my mosaic...
You can choose any shape here

I cut out all the tiny photos and laid them out face down...

Then I added double sided tape on all of them...

The next step was to arrange them in the mosaic style around the chipboard alphas...

When I was finally satisfied with the arrangement, I took off the backing of the double sided tape one at a time...The final step was to attach my cardstock to one with this fancy border...
It did take time...but I am loving the end result...

And oh...if you are wondering...A & P are our initials ;)

I created the background applying acrylic paints with a credit card...

Hello everyone,

Its time for a new sketch over at Stick-It-Down...

The sketch I created for this month is a simple one...and I am loving the interpretations of the Design Team...do check their lovely layouts

I played with a muted palette for the scrapbook page I made inspired from this sketch...

I used a lot of stencils in the background with few distress inks..to mute the colours, I covered the diagonal panel with with a printed tissue paper...
I added a tinyepoxy sticker for the title...I also popped up the photo with foam tape...

I also added 2 altered chipboard flourishes...
To alter the flourishes, I covered it with gesso...also added crackle paste randomly...finally added some colour with Distress Ink and some Archival Ink...

Stencils used -

Dream...Inspire...Create

Heya everyone,

My second post for the day...

Recycled another piece of cardboard for some mixed media fun...
Changed this piece of cardboard...

to this....

I had a lot of fun creating the background...with gesso...gelatos...stencils...distress inks...dylusions...
The flourish is a chipboard piece which was coloured with Distress Stains. I traced around the flourish with a silver paint marker and gave the flourish some highlights with a white gel pen...

For the words, I wrote them on a piece of cardstock with a white gel pen...and inked them with Vintage Photo DI to reduce the black and white contrast. I also covered them with Fevicol(glue) to give them some glossy dimension,,,

Hello everyone,

I have been going Mixed Media crazy lately...I am loving the "Just Let Go and CREATE" philosoply...
I am yet to take the leap to create something on canvas...so for the while...I am creating on all the cardboards I have been hoarding...Hoarding come to rescue! ;)

Started off with this piece of cardboard...

And happily ended up here...

Just checkout the yummy texture in the background...actually its yummy and fragrant...because I have used coffee to stain the background...

And don't forget the burlap coffee cup...I am in love with burlap at the moment...

This piece perfectly describes my love for Coffee...

Follow Your Heart...

Helloooo everyone,

Sharing a journal page with you today...
When I am working on a scrapbook page or card, I usually clean off my stencils and inks on journal page...they make such cool and interesting backgrounds...and that is how the background of this page came to be...I cleaned off the gesso from the stencils I used on this page and coloured the page with Dyan Reavely black paint...Finaly I removed some of the paint with a wet wipe so the texture of the gesso comes through...

Oooohhh...my favourite part of the page...the heart... some scrunched up thread, a piece of burlap, some recyled denim and a tiny epoxy sticker...

The sentiment is written with a gold paint marker and Uniball Signo White gel pen

P.S. - The denim heart has been cut out from an old pair of jeans...
